A meeting of the World Health Organization (WHO) on the European region was held today.

Topic: "Hospitals, fit for purpose".

One of the speakers at the opening was the chairman of the Azerbaijan Diabetes League Yegane Sultanova:

I am very glad that my messages were heard in front of the leaders of our health care. My most important and relevant messages:

- Patients admitted to the hospital in a serious condition should be under medical supervision until complete recovery (if it is an acute disease) and until the state of complete compensation (if it is a chronic disease). Continuous treatment should be completed with rehabilitation measures.

- Access to health care should be ensured at any point of Azerbaijan. Regional hospitals should provide this.

- For the healthcare system, if the goal is to ensure the health of the patients, if the satisfaction of the patients is to be achieved, then it is necessary to listen to them. The health care system should involve patient organizations in its activities. Patient organizations should be invited as experts in all programs and commissions that resolve the fate of patients.
